MA VetMB MRCVS
After graduating from Cambridge University Veterinary School, Thomas started work in James Herriot’s old practice, in North Yorkshire. Thomas’ time in North Yorkshire provided him with a fantastic foundation for his career as he quickly developed a wide range of skills treating “All creatures great and small”.
In 2011 Thomas moved to Devon to pursue his interest in Equine Veterinary Medicine. Since 2011 Thomas had worked at Gabriel, Grills and Associates (now Filham Park Veterinary Clinic). Here Thomas developed his skills in advanced equine procedures such as intra-articular (joint) injections, tendon scanning and endoscopy.
Thomas has a keen interest in equine wound management and finds these cases extremely rewarding especially when horses go on to compete successfully at top events.
Thomas enjoys all aspects of equine practice including lameness investigations but has a particular interest in equine colic, where the correct diagnosis and prompt treatment can have a huge impact on the survival of the horse.
Thomas is Junior Vice President of the Western Counties Veterinary Association (WCVA). Thomas also organises, and runs, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses for vets, lecturing to Veterinary Surgeons from across the country on a variety of clinical topics. Thomas is also editor for two educational websites for vets.
When Thomas isn’t working (which isn’t very often) he enjoys sailing and walking his dog Reggie.
